Text generated by a neural network has tells: an even rhythm to the sentences, smooth transitions, safe phrasing with no point of view. It is not only another model that notices — a live reader notices too, when the text sounds a little too correct. Below are six prompts for Claude that remove those tells one by one, from rhythm to a final read-aloud check.
Why "make the text livelier" does not work
The model has no idea what you mean by "livelier". With no criterion it just sprinkles a couple of conversational words on top, while the structure and the rhythm stay exactly the same. Every prompt below gives a concrete, checkable criterion: what to change and how to tell it worked. It is better to work through the text one pass at a time — one pass, one prompt — than to try to cover everything with a single all-purpose request.
Prompt 1 — break the even rhythm
An even rhythm — sentences of the same length, one after another — is the most visible technical tell of AI text.
Rewrite the text: alternate short and long sentences,
strip the smoothness and the "clever" turns of phrase.

Prompt 2 — fix the train of thought, not the style
This is a separate step from stylistic editing. AI text reasons evenly: claim, argument, conclusion. A live person jumps around, doubles back, goes into detail in one place and cuts a thought short in another.

Prompt 3 — clear out the boilerplate markers
"It's important to note", "in today's world", overly smooth links between paragraphs and a corporate tone are not style, they are the model's signature. They have to be removed surgically, not by asking to "make the text prettier" — that phrasing usually adds even more cliches.

Prompt 4 — bring back a point of view
By default the model tries not to offend anyone — which is why it sounds neutral and impersonal. A live author has an opinion, an intonation, and sometimes mild contradictions within a single text.

Prompt 5 — aim for true, not perfect
Chasing perfection is exactly what makes text sterile. The criterion here is simple: the text should land with the reader, not be exemplary.

Prompt 6 — a final read-aloud check
The last pass is not editing, it is a search. You are looking for sentences that still sound "too clean" after all the previous work, and reading the text out loud — spoken language is never perfectly smooth.

or too polished, as if it were said out loud.

How to apply them: order matters
The prompts work in sequence inside one conversation: first rhythm and train of thought (that changes the skeleton of the text), then markers and point of view (the flesh), and the read-aloud check at the end. Run the check before the other steps and the result slides back into the old smoothness, because the skeleton of the text has not been touched yet.
