A ready-made setup: a coherent visual style for your project in a single day. The AI helps you pick a concept (one distinctive typeface + a dominant colour + an accent), generates logo options, and you assemble post, cover and thumbnail templates in the same key. What you end up with is a recognizable brand instead of a jumble.
What you end up with
- A brand concept: a distinctive typeface, a dominant colour plus an accent, and "one memorable thing".
- A logo (several options to choose from) and an avatar for social profiles.
- Templates: posts, covers, stories, YouTube thumbnails — all in one style.
- A mini brand guide (which colour and font goes where) so things don't drift later.
What you'll need
Tools from the library (by name): ChatGPT/Claude (concept, naming, brand tone), Ideogram or Nano Banana Pro (logos and graphics with text — they render text in images well), Recraft (vector, icons, brand style), Canva (assembling post, cover and thumbnail templates), vidIQ (if you need YouTube — thumbnails for CTR). Accounts/money/hardware:
- Free route: ChatGPT/Claude (free), Ideogram (free tier), Canva (free), any PC.
- Fast route: Canva Pro (about $12/month — no watermarks, resizing to every format, a brand kit), Recraft/Nano Banana Pro (paid tiers for clean vector and quality).
Step by step
- Brand concept. Tool: ChatGPT/Claude. What to do: pick ONE direction rather than "all of the above". Ready-made prompt:
Help me with a project's identity. Project: "<what it is>". Audience: <who>.
Brand character: <3 adjectives, e.g. "bold, minimal, warm">.
Give me: 1) one clear visual concept (a mood + "one memorable thing");
2) a palette (1 dominant colour + 1–2 accents, with HEX); 3) a couple of typefaces
(distinctive, NOT Inter/Roboto/Arial — headline + body); 4) what will make the brand recognizable.
How you know it worked: you have one clear direction, a palette with HEX values, and distinctive typefaces (not the default system ones). 2. Logo. Tool: Ideogram or Nano Banana Pro (they render text well). What to do: generate options against the concept. Ready-made prompt:
minimalist logo for "<name>", <style from the concept>, single accent color <HEX>,
simple memorable mark, flat vector style, on plain background, high contrast,
no extra text, no watermark
How you know it worked: you have 3–5 options, and the best one still reads at small sizes and in a single colour (black and white). 3. Vector and avatar. Tool: Recraft (vector, icons) + Canva. What to do: take the chosen mark to a clean vector and make a round avatar for social profiles. How you know it worked: the logo doesn't fall apart when scaled and the avatar reads as a tiny circle. 4. Post and cover templates. Tool: Canva. What to do: build 3–5 templates (post, story, channel cover, quote) on the palette and typefaces from step 1, and save them for reuse. How you know it worked: every template looks like part of one series (same colours, fonts, spacing), and a new post is just a text swap. 5. Video thumbnails (optional). Tool: Canva + vidIQ (thumbnail scoring). What to do: build a YouTube thumbnail template in the brand style and check readability and score. How you know it worked: the thumbnail reads on a phone, holds the brand style, and vidIQ's score is green. 6. Mini brand guide. Tool: ChatGPT/Claude (to consolidate the rules) + Canva (to lay it out). What to do: write down which colour, font and spacing goes where, and what NOT to do. How you know it worked: from the guide, anyone (including you a month from now) can build an on-brand post without guessing.
Free route vs fast (paid)
| Step | Free route | Fast (paid) |
|---|---|---|
| Logo/graphics | Ideogram free | Nano Banana Pro / Recraft (vector, quality) |
| Templates | Canva free | Canva Pro (~$12/mo, brand kit, resizing, no watermark) |
| Thumbnails | Canva + vidIQ free | vidIQ Pro (scoring + variants) |
A coherent brand pack really can be assembled for free. Paying (Canva Pro/Recraft) buys clean vector, resizing to every format and no watermarks — that's convenience and scale, not the idea itself.
Common problems and fixes
- A logo like everyone else's, with no personality. Put the character and the "one memorable thing" into the prompt (step 1); generate more options and be ruthless when picking.
- Mangled text or artefacts in the logo. Use Ideogram/Nano Banana Pro (strong at text), or set the name separately in Canva on top of the mark.
- The logo falls apart at small sizes. Check it small and in one colour (black and white); simplify the shape and drop the fine details.
- Posts all over the place. Lock in the palette (HEX) and two typefaces and do NOT deviate; build posts from saved templates rather than from scratch.
- You've slid into "purple gradient on white". Pick one dominant, non-obvious colour plus an accent; character beats the fashionable default.
Time and money
- Time: a brand pack in a day — 4–6 hours (concept + logo + avatar + 3–5 templates + mini guide); the bare minimum (logo + 2 templates) — 1–2 hours.
- Money: free (Ideogram free + Canva free) or about $12–25/month for Canva Pro plus a paid generator for clean vector.
- Honestly: AI gives you options and speed, but the final taste and the choice of "one memorable thing" are yours. Recognition comes from consistency (one style everywhere), not from the number of elements.
