Presentation / pitch deck in an hour

A ready-made setup: a convincing deck in an hour, with no PowerPoint and no designer. The AI builds the narrative (problem → solution → market → product → money → team → ask), writes short slide copy you can actually defend out loud, and assembles a finished design. From "I have to present tomorrow" to a finished deck by evening.

What you end up with

  • A deck structure following a proven logic (for an investor / a client / your management).
  • Short, defensible slide copy (a claim, not a wall of text).
  • A finished presentation design (Gamma builds it from your text in minutes).
  • Speaker notes and answers to the questions your audience is likely to ask.
  • A template you can rebuild from: change the inputs, refresh the deck.

What you'll need

Tools from the library (by name): ChatGPT/Claude (structure, slide copy, Q&A), the prompt "Brief for a video / presentation (structure)" (the frame for your audience and goal), the prompt "One-page business plan for a hypothesis (Lean Canvas)" (if it's a startup pitch — the raw material), the prompt "Positioning and USP" (a strong "why us" slide), Gamma (deck and design from text in minutes) or Canva (if you want to lay it out by hand), Nano Banana Pro/Ideogram/Recraft (on-brand images, icons, diagrams). Accounts/money/hardware:

  • Free route: ChatGPT/Claude (free), Gamma (free tier), Canva (free); any PC.
  • Fast route: a paid model (smoother copy), Gamma Pro (no watermarks, PPTX/PDF export, your own branding), a paid image generator for clean visuals.

Step by step

  1. Audience and goal. What to do: decide who you're presenting to (investor / client / management) and what ONE action you need at the end (invest / buy / approve). How you know it worked: you can state in one sentence what the audience should do after the deck.
  2. Structure and slide copy. Tool: the prompt "Brief for a presentation" in ChatGPT/Claude. Ready-made prompt:
You're a presentation expert. Build the structure and slide copy.
TOPIC/PROJECT: "<what it is>". AUDIENCE: <investor/client/management>. GOAL (one action): "<what they should do>".
RAW MATERIAL: <key numbers, product, market, team — whatever I have>.
Give me 10–12 slides following pitch logic: hook → problem → solution → how it works →
market/demand → why us (USP) → business model/money → traction/proof → team → ask/CTA.
For each slide: a claim-style headline (one idea) + 2–4 bullets (short, not paragraphs) + what to say out loud (speaker note) + a visual idea.
Principle: one slide, one idea. No filler, no clichés. Don't invent numbers I didn't give you — mark them "<fill in>".

How you know it worked: every slide carries one idea, the copy is claims rather than walls of text, there are speaker notes, and no invented numbers. 3. Strengthen the key slides. Tool: the prompt "Positioning and USP" (the "why us" slide) plus "Lean Canvas" (raw material for a startup). What to do: polish the slides that matter most — problem, USP, money. How you know it worked: the "problem" slide lands and is easy to grasp, and "why us" answers "why you and not a competitor". 4. Build the design. Tool: Gamma (paste in the slide copy → get a finished design) or Canva (lay it out by hand). What to do: load the structure from step 2, pick a style, adjust the layout. How you know it worked: the deck looks coherent (one consistent style), the text is readable, and the slides aren't overloaded. 5. Visuals and data. Tool: Nano Banana Pro/Ideogram/Recraft plus charts. What to do: add illustrations and icons in one consistent style, and simple charts (market, growth) instead of walls of text. How you know it worked: numbers are shown as a chart, not a list; the visuals help rather than distract. 6. Defending it: Q&A and rehearsal. Tool: ChatGPT/Claude. What to do: run through the likely questions. Ready-made prompt:

You're a sceptical <investor/client>. Here's my pitch: <paste the slide claims>.
Ask me the 10 most awkward questions I'm going to get, and suggest a strong short answer to each.
Flag the 3 weakest spots in the deck that I should fix before presenting.

How you know it worked: you can answer the top questions confidently, and the deck's weak spots are patched in advance.

Free route vs fast (paid)

Step Free route Fast (paid)
Structure/copy ChatGPT/Claude free top-tier model (smoother, more persuasive)
Design Gamma free / Canva free Gamma Pro (PPTX/PDF export, branding, no watermark)
Visuals Ideogram free Nano Banana Pro / Recraft (clean icons/vector)

You really can put a finished deck together for free in an evening (Gamma free + ChatGPT). Paying buys clean exports (PPTX/PDF), your own branding, and better visuals. But what decides it isn't the design — it's the LOGIC (problem→solution→money) and how you defend it out loud.

Common problems and fixes

  • Wall-of-text slides nobody reads. One slide, one idea; claims instead of paragraphs; everything detailed goes into the speaker notes, not onto the slide.
  • The AI invented market or traction numbers. Be blunt: "don't invent numbers, mark them "; plug in market size and metrics yourself from real sources (see the combo "Niche and competitor analysis").
  • A pretty deck that doesn't convince. The problem is weak or the benefit is unclear — strengthen the "problem" and "why us" slides (step 3); an investor buys the problem and the team, not your fonts.
  • Overloaded with visuals and animation. One strong style and simple charts; a purple gradient and an animation on every slide pull attention away from the point.
  • You crumble on the questions. Run the Q&A in advance (step 6) and patch the weak spots — pitches sink on awkward questions, not on design.

Time and money

  • Time: structure + copy — 30–60 minutes; assembly in Gamma — 20–40 minutes; visuals and Q&A — another 30–60 minutes. A basic deck genuinely takes 1–2 hours.
  • Money: free (ChatGPT/Claude free + Gamma free) or about $10–25/month for a paid model plus Gamma Pro for clean exports and branding.
  • Honestly: AI gives you a structure and a draft in an hour, but persuasiveness lives in the real material (your numbers, your problem) and in how you defend it out loud. An investor sees through a pretty, empty deck in one question.
