The cover decides whether people swipe through the carousel or scroll past it — and in 2026 the top slot does not go to "text on a background" but to a handful of recognizable visual tricks. Here are four of them, why they work, and a prompt for each so you can adapt them to your niche without borrowing anyone's style.

Why this is a technique, not a one-off find

All four tricks below share one thing: the cover rests on a single strong detail rather than a pile of elements. A character, a metaphor, an exaggeration or a premium object — one thing, big, with no visual noise around it. The prompt wording for each trick carries over to any niche by simply swapping the topic and the details.

Trick 1 — your own guide character

A cartoon AI character on the cover and inside the carousel holds attention better than a text banner — and then the same character walks the viewer through a checklist or a set of steps.

Draw a 3D cartoon AI character for my niche: [NICHE].
Friendly style, with one bright memorable detail
(color, accessory, shape) that works as a recognizable
element on the cover and inside the carousel.

From there the character moves onto the inner slides — the checklist, the steps or the answer to a frequent audience question all come from them.

Trick 2 — the niche through a familiar object

Comparing a process in your niche to a familiar everyday object explains an abstract idea faster than terminology does — and hands you a ready-made slide sequence.

Pick an object as a metaphor for the process [PROCESS] in my niche: [NICHE].
Lay out 3 slides where parts of the object map to stages of the process,
and suggest a short headline for each slide.

Works for any step-by-step process — from a sales funnel to a learning path; the object just has to be recognizable without explanation.

Trick 3 — one visual exaggeration per cover

A single grotesque detail — an odd proportion, an unexpected scale — makes the cover stand out in the feed without a word of text.

Make a cover with one grotesque detail: [WHAT TO EXAGGERATE]
for the topic [TOPIC]. Keep the rest of the composition simple
and calm so all attention goes to that detail.

The key constraint: there must be exactly one detail. Two grotesque details on one cover read as chaos, not as a technique.

Trick 4 — dark background and an expensive detail

A dark premium background and one status object — the cover reads as "expensive" content before the headline is even read.

Build a premium cover: dark background, one status object
related to the topic [TOPIC], studio lighting, minimal
elements in frame — no text and no extra decoration.

The trick carries over to any niche through your own symbol instead of someone else's object — an animal, a tool or an item already associated with the topic.

Where to build these covers

For characters and exaggerated compositions, generating through Claude with a description of the style and the detail works well; for premium object scenes with studio lighting, use models tuned for photorealistic images such as Nano Banana. In the first case the prompt describes the style and one detail, in the second the light, the material and the object — the structure of the request is the same either way: topic, one accent, nothing extra.

How we do it

We build cover templates like these and test them on our own cards before publishing the prompt in the knowledge base — it matters that the technique carries across different niches rather than working on one lucky example. The cover generator in the qvib engine is built the same way: a template for the technique plus variables for the specific topic, not a single image for every occasion.
