Claude will almost always happily produce a symbol, a slogan and an "unexpected idea" for a personal brand — the question is whether that's a working result or just nice-sounding text nobody will remember a week later. Below are four test prompts: not for generating, but for checking a finished option against concrete criteria.
Why check what's already been generated
A prompt that generates a symbol or a slogan usually returns several options and offers to pick the "strongest" — but the pick is usually made by taste, not by criterion. A checking prompt solves a different problem: it takes one specific option and runs it through hard conditions — memorability, distinctiveness from competitors, length, verifiability. If an option fails the test, that's a reason to pick a different one, not to "polish" it.
Test 1 — will the audience forget the symbol in a week
The criterion is simple: a good symbol can be described to a stranger in one phrase and doesn't overlap with competitors' imagery in the niche.
Evaluate this personal brand symbol against 3 criteria: can it be described
to a stranger in one sentence in 10 seconds, does it avoid overlapping with
competitors' imagery in my niche, could the audience draw
or describe it from memory a week later.
For each criterion give a yes/no answer with a short explanation.
If even one criterion fails — suggest what to change.
Symbol: [DESCRIBE THE SYMBOL]
Niche: [NICHE]
Test 2 — will people repeat the slogan unprompted
A slogan works if the audience says it themselves, without being asked — that's free distribution. If the slogan is longer than six words, it isn't a slogan, it's a sentence.
Test this slogan against 3 conditions: no longer than 6 words, the phrase
is clear without extra context, and people actually want to say it
out loud rather than just read it.
Give a verdict on each condition and an overall call — working slogan or not.
If it isn't working, suggest 2 shorter and more concrete options.
Slogan: [INSERT SLOGAN]
Niche: [NICHE]
Test 3 — will anyone screenshot it
A strong "unexpected idea" argues with the prevailing opinion in the niche, and it has to be provable rather than merely provocative.
Test this idea on 3 points: does it genuinely argue with
the accepted opinion in the niche, can I prove it with facts
or personal experience, would someone want to screenshot it and
forward it to a friend without me asking.
If the idea is too close to the conventional view or unprovable —
suggest a sharper and more verifiable formulation.
Idea: [INSERT IDEA]
Niche: [NICHE]
Test 4 — will they say "this is exactly me"
A brand's focus is one idea, not two or three at once. The check should run against concrete audience segments, not in your head.
Test this core personal brand idea: could a direct competitor
in my niche claim it as their own, and does it match at least
one of the 3 audience segments I name closely enough that
the person says "this is exactly me".
Give a yes/no with an explanation for each segment.
If even one segment says "no" — suggest how to narrow the idea.
Brand idea: [INSERT]
Audience segments: [SEGMENT 1, SEGMENT 2, SEGMENT 3]
How to build the check into your process
The logical order is to generate 2-3 options for each element first (symbol, slogan, idea, focus), then run the best one through the matching test above in the same conversation. If a test fails, there's no point arguing with Claude or talking it round — it's easier to ask for another option and repeat the check. Losing five minutes on a test is cheaper than living with a weak slogan for a month.
How we do it
Our knowledge base holds not only generation prompts but also test prompts for their own output — because a prompt's real value shows up not in the moment but after its result has lived in production for at least a couple of weeks. The same checking principle underpins how the qvib engine builds and tests its own templates before shipping them to users.
