Packaging a profile means a handle, a bio, a plan for highlights and pinned posts, all assembled around one positioning logic. Normally that's a one-off job with a copywriter. In Claude you can turn it into a Skill: configure it once, then simply state the task — and get a finished package without re-explaining the context. Below is how to build such a skill and what prompt to put inside it.
The point: a Skill instead of a one-off prompt
An ordinary prompt lives for one conversation: close the chat and Claude has forgotten what you asked for and in what format. A Skill is a saved instruction with triggers: Claude works out when to apply it on its own and stops asking basic things like "what format do you need". For tasks that repeat (profile packaging, scripts, briefs) that saves exactly the preparation stage — explaining context.
Step 1 — find the Skills section
Skills aren't in the chat, they're in settings:
- Open Claude → Settings → Customize → Skills.
- The Personal skills section — this is where your custom skills live, separate from the system ones.
- The Create Skill button opens the builder: name, trigger description, instructions.
Step 2 — describe the triggers
The Description field isn't an annotation for humans, it's an instruction for Claude: which phrases should make the skill fire on its own, without a manual call.

Trigger on meaning too — personal brand, expert profile,
social media — even if the word Instagram isn't said outright.
The more specific the list of trigger phrases, the less often you'll have to invoke the skill by command.
Step 3 — write the skill's instructions
This is the core logic. Without questions about niche and audience Claude will produce a generic template that fits everyone and no one. The instruction below forces the model to gather inputs first and only then assemble the result:
You help package an Instagram profile for a specific niche.
Step 1. Ask these 5 questions one at a time and wait for answers:
1) niche and content format
2) target audience
3) tone of communication (expert / friendly / provocative)
4) the main USP or result you deliver to the audience
5) the profile's goal: sales, reach or personal brand
Step 2. From the answers, assemble:
- 3 handle options with reasoning
- a 3-4 line bio with the USP and a call to action
- a plan of 5 highlights with names
- 3 topics for pinned posts
Don't show the result until you have all 5 answers.
Save it — the skill shows up in your list of personal skills and is available by trigger or by command.
Step 4 — run it
From here it's an ordinary chat message, no need to restate the instructions:
Package my profile: niche — AI and vibe coding,
audience — entrepreneurs with no technical background.
Send it as markdown. /instagram-profile-pack
Claude either works out from context that this skill is needed, or you invoke it explicitly with the slash command. After that — 5 clarifying questions and a finished package based on your answers.

- The handle reflects the niche or names it outright.
- The bio answers "why should I follow you" within 3 seconds of reading.
- The highlights plan has no empty "about me" categories with nothing in them.
- The pinned posts close the three main objections of a new audience.
- The bio's tone matches the tone of the posts — otherwise the profile looks assembled from several different people.
