A nurture funnel is a sequence of touchpoints that walks someone from "just found you" to "ready to buy." Building one by hand takes an hour or two with a spreadsheet and draft posts. Here is how to bake that logic into a custom Claude Skill: you write the instruction once, then just plug in the niche and the product.
The idea: why a funnel is a Skill, not a one-off prompt
A good nurture funnel needs context that does not change from task to task: how many touchpoints, how each one is structured, what you prove at every step. Re-explaining all of that in chat every time wastes time and drops part of the logic. A Skill stores the structure permanently — all you supply is the niche, the product and the timeframe.
Step 1 — open Skills
Customize → Skills → Personal skills → Create Skill. The same screen lets you upload a ready instruction file (Upload a skill) if you wrote one in advance — for example, your own text file with the funnel logic.
Step 2 — write the instruction: the touchpoint script
The key part is making Claude think in a chain rather than in a single post:
You are building a nurture funnel: a sequence of content
from cold follower to ready to buy.
Answer structure:
1. Decide the number of touchpoints (default 8-10) and the timeframe (default 14 days).
2. For every touchpoint give:
- the topic of the post/story
- the emotion it should trigger (curiosity, trust, urgency)
- concrete proof (an example, a case, a demo — no made-up numbers)
- a micro call to action (not a direct sale, just a small next step)
3. The first 30% of touchpoints — context and trust only, no mention of the product.
4. The last 20% — a direct offer and objection handling.
5. Never use phrases like "don't miss your chance" or "buy before it's gone".
Point five is not decoration: without an explicit ban, Claude drifts toward canned "don't miss out / buy now" lines, which damage trust in nurture copy more than they help.
Step 3 — a prompt with placeholders
From there you build the funnel for a specific situation:
Build a nurture funnel for the niche [niche] around the product
[product]. Platforms: [Instagram / Telegram / both].
Timeframe: [14 days]. Touchpoints: [10].
A filled-in example: "niche — legal consulting for small business, product — a retainer service, platforms — Telegram, timeframe 10 days, 8 touchpoints."
Step 4 — what to check in the output
A finished funnel is not a guarantee of sales — it is a draft of the logic that you still have to reality-check:
- Is Claude already selling on the second touchpoint? If so, ask it to stretch the path.
- Does the chain contain at least one touchpoint with real proof (a demo, a teardown, a live example) instead of generic "we're the best" claims.
- Is the same idea repeated across several posts under different headlines.
- Does the final call to action match what the product can actually deliver — with no inflated promises.
Full materials: turning the script into a Skill
- Build the funnel structure in a regular chat, test it on one or two sample niches.
- Copy the final version of the instruction (step 2) into the Skill builder.
- Add triggers to the Description: "nurture funnel", "content chain", "warming up an audience", "launch content plan" — then the skill will offer itself.
- Test it on a real request using the placeholders from step 3.
- If the touchpoint format does not fit your niche (say, you need 5 touchpoints instead of 10 for a short sales cycle) — edit point 1 of the instruction and re-save the skill.
